Opening with an announcement: 398 posts, and what the best ones do
398 posts in the library open with an announcement, reaching a median of 1.5K likes. Eight that worked, what separates the top quarter from the rest, and how to write one.
Rests on:the post,the post,the post,the post,the post,the post,the post,the post
The first line says that something now exists, has shipped, or has changed. It works when the thing is wanted, and it works far better when the second line says what the reader can now do that they could not before.
398 posts in the library open this way — 4% of everything in it. They reach a median of 1,468 likes, against 632 for the library as a whole: the opening travels.

What separates the top from the rest
Comparing the 99 most-liked posts with this opening against the other 299:
- The structure the analysis reads most often in the top group is Hook → Context → Landing — 43 of 99.
How to write one
Lead with the thing, in plain words, in the present tense. Then spend one line on what it lets the reader do — the launch posts here that travelled furthest are the ones where line two is a capability, not a feature. Skip the ceremony: "excited to announce" has never made anything more exciting.
The analysis of the strongest example above puts it this way: Preserve the Hook → Landing structure and the announcement opening. Replace the subject matter entirely with the writer’s own product, story and numbers.
Take the top three into the studio with your own subject; the opening move carries over, the words do not.
