It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy! Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river.

Just listening to this commentary with folks from @OpenAI here at the AWS event you can tell earnings call tomorrow on both Amazon and Microsoft will be spicy. Already hearing this deal with AWS is negative to Azure.

In case folks need the context, the majority of consumer PCs sold annually (~120-140M depending on the year) are in the sub $700-800 price tier. 95% or more Windows-based. In markets outside US price tier is under $600. This is where Apple is targeting Macbook Neo.

If our Intel foundry model is even ballpark correct, an Apple deal for 15-20m chip (assuming monolithic) is enough to guarantee 14A even if it is on 18A-P. That said, we still have a high degree of confidence that Intel has more customers coming for foundry 18A-P and 14A.

Federighi, just prior to showing the ChatGPT integration said "we want you to access external models" which makes it sound like most of Apple Intelligence is powered by Apple's own proprietary models. Seems GPT is just for web searches and composing fresh writing.
