i get substack has to position this as a win for independent media and 'you too can grow a blog into an exit that creates generational wealth' but pretty hard to replicate the political realities of "Paramount needs to make the FCC happy under Trump II" as a startup outcome

the Department of Justice filed what it calls an "historic" letter of interest in the NYT vs OpenAI/MSFT lawsuit, supporting OpenAI. Trump admin argues it is in the "national interest" to support OAI in the copyright case. NYT sent us statement with vigorous pushback below:

because i cast a mountain’s worth of shade at SpaceX IPO pitch and fair is fair, the numbers thrown around for total addressable market (or TAM) are so funny either you buy into the argument that this will eat the economy or you dont. but the street no longer flinches hearing it

google earth rollback faster than i anticipated. genuinely surprised this feature made it out the door at all. not hard to see how there is a meaningful difference in "well anyone can generate altered AI mapping images" to "adding this as a button to a google-scale product"
