Reviving this account to say: Almost everyone at Vimeo was laid off yesterday, including the entire video team. If you're looking for talented engineers, there are a few on the market. Sucks to see something I built killed by private equity in a technology company skin suit.

It’s notable that the Vision Pro M5 was just announced for preorder, and even though most my network is VR people. Almost no one is talking about it. Likely because it doesn’t solve the 2 biggest issues I have with it. Form factor and price.

Supposedly Vision Pro can now do hand tracking at 90Hz. This is a big deal. Why? The original hand tracking was 30Hz, this was hugely problematic for gaming. The display was running at 90Hz and the hand tracking made it look like the game was lagging. Quest is 60Hz.

The person who does branding at Meta needs to be fired. The Quest headset made by Meta running HorizonOS with Facebook accounts playing Horizon Worlds developed by "Oculus" devs and publishing What in the hell guys.
