Excited to see Anthropic acknowledge the real problem with open is it competes with their corporate economic strategy. The “awareness” here is revealing. When you build the biggest private market cap ever, you should expect competition. I’m sure the secondaries have been nice.

I disagree, I don't think this has to be "game-over" for Google. I do think they have only one play left now - to pull from their own Android/Kubernetes playbook and fully embrace open-models. It's the obvious move in this situation. Details here: t.co

Please stop referring to your own models in the third person when talking about model bad behavior. Humans write the software; humans built the prompts; and they work for your company. “Our” model is doing illegal things. “Our” model is risky. “We” now have liability.

KeyPoint! Making a move like this wouldn't just hurt US AI competitiveness, it would negatively impact every US company in every industry - because they would be forced to pay prices for AI that are drastically above market. It would hurt US competitiveness in every field!

I don't know why you need to point to "nefarious accounts" to understand AI backlash. The founder of the leading model company just flew to Europe to hold a press conference with the Pope & said all the same negative things. The caller is in the house.
