This is a CRAZY leak. I still don’t like the idea of having cameras everywhere in our lives, but as long as Apple blocks photo and video recording and purely uses Vision for AI purposes, I don’t mind.

It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy! Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river.

I don’t get how you can spend 24 years at a company like Apple, lead development of ground-breaking technology like the iMac, iPhone and Apple Watch, and then steal trade secrets on your way out to get pre-IPO OpenAI shares, screwing the company you helped build.

GGs you need 12GB RAM and an M3/A19 Pro or higher to run the most powerful Apple intelligence on-device model. This is mainly used for Siri's advanced voice, but I believe it could also help speed up image understanding instead of relying on Private Cloud Compute.
