Feeling robbed of my path to citizenship right now after grinding a PhD and contributing to foundational AI + computing technologies for the United States for the past ~ 10 years. Feels like robbing top and technologists like me of the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.

It's literally all Claude eating their lunch. Lagging indicator. Cracked devs on X are leading indicators. Everyone I know switched to Codex. Give it a month and it will be apparent in revenue numbers.

So the real reasons that Anthropic nerfed Fable for biology and ML weren't for "Safety" but because those are markets they wanted to dominate. Got it.

Impressions so far: Grok Build interface is actually really nice. Now as soon as xAI has a SOTA model, it could very well become competitive with Codex / Claude Code overnight

If I were not already building Extropic, I would have 100% joined @xai The lab with the most e/acc and Kardashev-pilled mission of all Definitely a huge opportunity for great talent to rise to the occasion here

This is why they didn't release Mythos. Incentivized to compound their lead rather than make models available to their potential competitors. For all the Doomer talk of Singleton superintelligence, they are sure behaving in a way that would hyperstition that outcome

Not like this... This is not the way. Not a good precedent to set. Will lead to govt biasing the models to reinforce their views within the population. This is why decentralization of models is of.utmost importance. Freedom of synthetic thought should be protected.

So basically all elite founders of multi-billion dollar companies contributing to AI and defense have to stop their work in order to convert to GC? Make it make sense.

Very bad idea. Administrations of the future will force labs to imbue the biases of their side into the models in order to get sign off. This will also reduce the number of labs who can ship models, having to deal with compliance. I cannot advise against this strongly enough.

Deceleration makes us all unsafe. If only a few "approved" orgs can have access to American frontier for Cyber defense, and little tech is left hanging/ having to use Chinese models, we are all far worse off. Enough.

Honestly, Apple should be world-leading when it comes to releasing American open source models. They have the cash. They have every incentive to commoditize their complement, most users are buying Mac Studios to run Chinese OSS models. Major security risk. @tim_cook plz fix

Centralized AI companies scrape your data and rent it back to you. Decentralized AI means more than OSS, it means distribution ownership of the wealth produced by the models. Looking forward to seeing what Emad cooks next.

Maybe we phrase high-skilled immigration as critical talent acquisition and adversarial skill exfiltration from opponents. The US needs to continue to Project Paperclip all other countries at all times to stay on top. Maintain US tech dominance is paramount to protect freedom.
