This is probably a good time to remind everyone that US AI companies try to honor copyright laws for pre-training our best models while the Chinese models do not. If there is a level playing field, American companies will most assuredly win the AI race.

LLMs have quickly become a consumer surplus. What does this mean? Tons of investment + scorched earth economics = consumers win no matter which company ultimately wins. It’s amazing to see how fast this has happened in a market this important.
