This week is absolutely nuts for AI releases, and now a major new model update from Muse. We appear to be reaching escape velocity in capability progress. If this thing gets released as open weights it completely changes the dynamic of US open weights competitiveness.

Fantastic to see more open weights innovation happening right now, especially coming from a US Lab. The future of AI is going to be a mix of frontier intelligence that you can use as an orchestrator combined with either lower cost or tuned models for your workhorse tasks.

Everyone thinks this is some kind of 4D chess or conspiracy. But it’s quite standard to try and jailbreak AI models, and by definition they would share that research with the government given that’s whole point. I don’t think Amazon assumed this would be the next move.

Veo 3 is truly insane. This latest wave of AI is going to fundamentally accelerate the creation of entertainment. Creating awesome content will still require tremendous creativity and a long tail of complex work, but it will become available to way more people.
